Join the premier showcase for illustrators!  All accepted entries will be reproduced in full color in the Illustrators 56 annual and included in the exhibit at the Society of Illustrators, on display January 7 - March 1, 2014.  A selection of 40 works will tour US colleges through June 2015, the 33rd eduational traveling exhibition.

All entries must be entered on the online competition site.

How to take part link

The Exhibition is open to:
> illustrators, including professionals and newcomers, submitting unpublished works or works published in the last two years
> art colleges submitting projects produced by their students in the last two years of study
> publishers presenting their illustrators

HOW DO I TAKE PART?

Send by October 4th,  2012

1. Application Form
2. 5 original illustrations (fixed number), unpublished or published after 1 January 2012, in black and white or colour, produced using any technique, including computer graphics (in case of mixed technique, please send both original drawings and printouts of the ultimate artwork).
   Artwork previously submitted to the Exhibition may not be re-entered.
   The illustrations must be based on the same theme and must be numbered from 1 to 5 (labels enclosed) in the desired order. The number of illustrations (5) is mandatory. Submissions of any other number of works will be rejected.

> Fiction 32 x 42 cm (or 42 x 32 cm)

Entry to the Exhibition is free and entitles you to a pass granting you admission to the 2014 Bologna Children's Book Fair.

CHILDREN'S SHOW NO. 9 - DEADLINE APRIL 17

ELIGIBILTY

All entries must have been completed between January and December 2011 and be geared towards children. Picture books and other illustrated books whose prime market is children twelve years and younger will be considered, as well as young adult books, editorial illustrations and children’s programming. You may select to enter either the actual book, F&Gs or select images and enter digitally.

CATEGORIES

This year’s categories include Children’s Book Published, Children’s Book Unpublished, Young Adult, Book Covers, Children’s Illustration Published, Children’s Illustration Unpublished, Educational, Editorial, Children’s Programming/Animation, and Miscellaneous

JUDGES

Our international panel of judges for this year’s 3x3 Children’s Show will include Yvette Ghione, Editor, Kids Can Press, Lucie Papineau, Art Director, Canada, and illustrators Ofra Amit, Israel; Bob Daly, USA; Binny Talib, Australia; Christiane Beauregard, Canada.

ENTRY FEES

Single entries are $30, Series (3–5 images) are $35.

AWARDS

We will award Gold, Silver, Bronze and Distinguised Merit awards and a Best of Show Award.

How to enter
All entries must be submitted to the competition website.  Images must be 700 pixels on the longest side, 72 dpi, RGB, JPEG.
Moving Images submissions should be mailed to the Society of Illustrators, 128 East 63 Street, NY NY 10065.
