10 questions to ask yourself about your Picture Book Idea

1. is the main caharacters distinct and memorable?
2. is it realevant to today's children?
3. is it entertaining, i.e, dramatic and/or funny?
4. is it emotinally impactful?
5. Does it have universal appeal?
6. Is it conducive to family sharing?
7.Does it flow well and invite interactivity when read aloud?
8. Is it positive? Does it convey values in a subtle, non-preachy way?
9. Does the text allow room for the illstrations to do 50% of the storytelling?
10. Is it satisfying and substantial enough to invite repeated readings?
